I drove about 15 miles on the Stevenson Expressway the other day behind a guy who was goin' old school. No GPS for him, and no maps. He was tossing sunflower seed shells out the window, regular as clockwork, about every 20 seconds. Regular guy, from what I could tell from behind, regular car, just cruising along about 50 mph. And in heavy traffic, they were all bouncing off of my windshield.
Now normally I get all bent out of shape about litter, but this just made me laugh. Sure, they're biodegradable, so low on the impact list, and that made it ok for me to just get a kick out of this guy who had no idea I was picturing him trying to find his way home by following the trail he'd left. I could see it so clearly, the guy driving his car down the center lane, against traffic, with his head hanging out the window looking for his backtrail, completely oblivious to all the other cars. Haha!
